Itinerary:

On the first day of our 6 Days Desert Tour from Marrakech, we will greet you at the airport and take you with our experienced driver to your hotel. If you come early, we may take you to some gorgeous spots, such as the Jamaa el-Fna plaza. The night will be at your lovely lodging.
Day 2: A Guided Tour of Marrakech
After breakfast, visit the medina and the famous Jamaa el Fna square, near the entrance of the medina.
Marrakech, together with Meknes, Fez and Rabat, is one of the four royal cities of Morocco. Founded in 1062 by Yusuf ibn Tahfine, the first Amir of the Berber dynasty of Almoravids, Marrakech was the capital of the Islamic Empire. Marrakech is one of Morocco’s most important cities, located in the south of the country at the foot of the Atlas Mountains. It boasts numerous World Heritage sites, making it the country’s main tourist attraction.
Marrakech is known as the Red City because of the color of its buildings, and in 2001, UNESCO declared the Djemaa el Fna square, one of the busiest squares in Africa and the world, an oral world heritage site. Everything in Marrakech revolves around DJamaa el Fna, the multitude of people who gather in this public space and fill it with color and culture; musicians, storytellers, snake charmers, dancers, dentists, juice sellers, acrobats, letter writers, water carriers, herb sellers ……. . At dusk, the square is filled with food stalls illuminated by hundreds of lights, and as night falls, countless people gather to eat. In the distance, overlooking the square, is the city’s oldest Almohad monument, the Katubia Mosque, first known for its square minaret, built by Jacob Mansour at the end of the 12th century, which is a model for the Giralda in Seville and the Hassan Tower in Rabat.
The Koutoubia Tower, the tallest building in Marrakech at 77 meters, dominates the medina and can be seen from a distance, as you enter the city.
North of Jemaa Square is the souk, each area named after the main type of goods offered (clothes, spices, furs, leather, slippers, carpets, wool, wood, ceramics, etc.) or the workshops of artisans (dyers, carpenters, blacksmiths, etc.). The carpet bazaar occupies the area of the old slave market. To the northeast of the souk is the tannery district, which stretches along Babu de Bagh Street, named after the gate of the same name.
The Medina, or old town, is protected by a cordon of laterite walls, a maze of narrow streets lined with palaces, markets, mosques, domes and minarets. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985, the Marrakech Medina is now a must-see. Its center and starting point is the great Djemaa el Fna square. Accommodation at the hotel.
