6 Days Desert Tour from Marrakech

6 Days Desert Tour from Marrakech, a perfect balance between adventure and relaxation, allowing you to experience the natural and cultural wonders of Morocco

Available in:

Description:

This 6 Days Desert Tour from Marrakech, includes a visit to the desert and can be customized if you want to extend your tour. This tour is ideal for combining sightseeing in Morocco with a desert tour that begins and ends in Marrakech. Please note that the Chebbi Dunes and desert camps are very busy during the peak vacation periods of spring, fall and winter. The Desert Nomads tour travels many kilometers through the Moroccan Sahara Desert and includes two nights in the desert, giving you time to better understand and experience the uniqueness of the desert regions before the Sahara and the Sahara. You can get a taste of Saharan life and enjoy more adventurous moments, such as “taking off” in a four-wheel drive vehicle through the dunes or hiking camels to and from camp. Or just spend time among the unique, “are we really here” scenery.

Itinerary:

Day 1 : Arrival at Marrakech airport

On the first day of our 6 Days Desert Tour from Marrakech, we will greet you at the airport and take you with our experienced driver to your hotel. If you come early, we may take you to some gorgeous spots, such as the Jamaa el-Fna plaza. The night will be at your lovely lodging.

Day 2: A Guided Tour of Marrakech

After breakfast, visit the medina and the famous Jamaa el Fna square, near the entrance of the medina.

Marrakech, together with Meknes, Fez and Rabat, is one of the four royal cities of Morocco. Founded in 1062 by Yusuf ibn Tahfine, the first Amir of the Berber dynasty of Almoravids, Marrakech was the capital of the Islamic Empire. Marrakech is one of Morocco’s most important cities, located in the south of the country at the foot of the Atlas Mountains. It boasts numerous World Heritage sites, making it the country’s main tourist attraction.

Marrakech is known as the Red City because of the color of its buildings, and in 2001, UNESCO declared the Djemaa el Fna square, one of the busiest squares in Africa and the world, an oral world heritage site. Everything in Marrakech revolves around DJamaa el Fna, the multitude of people who gather in this public space and fill it with color and culture; musicians, storytellers, snake charmers, dancers, dentists, juice sellers, acrobats, letter writers, water carriers, herb sellers ……. . At dusk, the square is filled with food stalls illuminated by hundreds of lights, and as night falls, countless people gather to eat. In the distance, overlooking the square, is the city’s oldest Almohad monument, the Katubia Mosque, first known for its square minaret, built by Jacob Mansour at the end of the 12th century, which is a model for the Giralda in Seville and the Hassan Tower in Rabat.

The Koutoubia Tower, the tallest building in Marrakech at 77 meters, dominates the medina and can be seen from a distance, as you enter the city.

North of Jemaa Square is the souk, each area named after the main type of goods offered (clothes, spices, furs, leather, slippers, carpets, wool, wood, ceramics, etc.) or the workshops of artisans (dyers, carpenters, blacksmiths, etc.). The carpet bazaar occupies the area of the old slave market. To the northeast of the souk is the tannery district, which stretches along Babu de Bagh Street, named after the gate of the same name.

The Medina, or old town, is protected by a cordon of laterite walls, a maze of narrow streets lined with palaces, markets, mosques, domes and minarets. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985, the Marrakech Medina is now a must-see. Its center and starting point is the great Djemaa el Fna square. Accommodation at the hotel.

 Day 3 : Marrakech – .Ouarzazate – Dades valley

After being picked up from your riad/hotel in Marrakech at 8am, you will head south towards Ouarzazate. On the way, you will cross the Tizi Ntika Pass at 2 260 m and enjoy the magnificent views of the Atlas Mountains.

On the way you will reach the Ait Ben Haddou kasbah. This is Morocco’s finest fortified town, where the films “Gladiator” and “Kingdom of Heaven” were made. Continue on to Ouarzazate and visit the Taurirt Kasbah.

The Thousand Kasbahs Road will take you to Skura, from where you will pass through the Valley of the Roses to reach the Dades Gorge where you will spend the night.

Day 4: Dades valley – Todra gorges – Merzouga Desert

After breakfast, we will depart on a road lined with kasbahs of adobe architecture. We will arrive at the Todra Valley, one of the most visited places in Morocco. This canyon is made of vertical walls, huge, beautiful and impressive. Without a doubt, it is a great paradise for climbers and a unique place.

We will have lunch at the same place and continue our journey towards the desert. Upon reaching the impressive Merzouga dunes (Erg Chebbi), we will taste a cup of tea, a traditional Moroccan treat. After a short rest, we will depart in a camel caravan and arrive at Camp in about an hour.

On the way, you will stop to enjoy the fantastic sunset over the desert dunes of Merzouga.

After dinner in the fantastic atmosphere, spend the night in the tent, in the heart of the desert. There will be time to climb the large dunes and the small dunes near the camp to watch shooting stars, make wishes, and enjoy an unforgettable night.

Day 5: Merzouga desert – Draa valley – Marrakech

We will wake up before dawn to see the sunrise at the great dunes of Erg Chebbi in Merzouga.  then you will have shower and have breakfast at our desert camp.

After a photo shoot, we will continue our journey in 4×4 off-road vehicles across the mysterious pre-desert landscape until we reach the Draa Valley.

The Draa River is the longest river in Morocco, crossing the entire country and reaching as far as Mauritania. pass through the Anti-Atlas to reach Ouarzazate, where we will have lunch.

In the afternoon, we will cross the High Atlas and arrive in Marrakech around 18:00, where we will transfer to your hotel or riad.

Incredible tours, with breathtaking scenery! Worth every minute! Very good accommodation, delicious food, a city tour with a local guide who gave us the opportunity to learn a little more about Moroccan culture. Incredible experience

Desert, that word that we think means where there is nothing, only sand, is where I found everything, Magic, stars, friendship, camels, music, fire, frequencies and many sparks of all kinds of energies, the ones you want to ignite, will vibrate through your body, you will feel the immensity of nature in small concentrated sparks; dreaming in another bath of desert sands. Thanks to all the brothers who share their time so that others can enjoy it. Carlos del Desierto.
